Singer Katy, 25, did so well on the panel for the X Factor auditions in Dublin, Simon has offered her a pay-per-show deal on the US version of his hit series.

Sources say Katy could pocket £220,000 a show.

Impressed with her off-the-cuff comments and deadpan quips, Simon, 50, contacted her at the end of last week – before her appearance on the ITV1 show had even aired.

Following the recent Auto-Tuning scandal, it seems the multi-millionaire mogul fears any more controversy could hamper the show’s launch in the States.

So he is desperate to secure at least three big names on the judging table within the next six weeks to renew interest in the show and among network execs at Fox.

And Katy, who looked stunning when snapped heading to an interview with NRJ radio station in Paris yesterday, is top of the list.
