Online music and events platform Britishrock.cc reports today (Thurs) that the 25-year-old singer from Santa Barbara, California, USA, is set to hit the stage at Vienna’s Arena concert hall on 6 October.

Perry rose to fame with “I Kissed a Girl” in 2008. The song topped the charts in several countries in the world before she managed to repeated the triumph with follow-up single “Hot n Cold”. Both songs reached number one on the Austrian Singles Chart.

Her third album “Teenage Dream” was released earlier this month.

Perry’s performance of her two biggest hits sitting in a huge shell sailing down from the roof of Vienna City Hall is regarded as the highlight of the opening ceremony of last year’s Life Ball.

It was also announced recently that Danish pop siren Aura Dione will come to Austria for two concerts (Vienna, 23 November; Linz, 24 November) before US pop-punk band Good Charlotte will perform in Vienna on 21 January 2011.

Her second Capitol effort starts atop the Billboard 200 with 192,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan — marking her best sales week and a new chart high. She’s the first solo woman to reign at No. 1 since January, when Ke$ha’s “Animal” spent one week atop the list.

Over on the Digital Songs chart, “Teenage Dream’s” title track moves up one spot to spend its first frame at No. 1 with 259,000 (up 24%).

Perry’s last album, 2008′s “One of the Boys,” debuted and peaked at No. 9 in July of that year with 47,000 sold in its premiere week. Its best sales frame came over Christmas week of 2008 when it shifted 63,000 — but at a lower rung on the tally.

On Digital Songs, “Teenage Dream” gives Perry her second No. 1 of the year. She earlier reigned for five weeks with the album’s first single, “California Gurls.” The latter is on the verge of becoming the year’s top selling download with 2.6 million sold. Its sum falls just shy of 2010′s best-seller: Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” (3.8 million).

Singer Katy, 25, did so well on the panel for the X Factor auditions in Dublin, Simon has offered her a pay-per-show deal on the US version of his hit series.

Sources say Katy could pocket £220,000 a show.

“Jennifer Lopez was a serious consideration as was, weirdly, her husband Marc Anthony. Mariah Carey’s other half, Nick Cannon, is also in the frame. But Katy really came on Simon’s radar after the Dublin auditions. She absolutely nailed it. She was a natural.

“All the recent hoo-ha forced his hand slightly and he decided to offer her the gig and gauge her response.

“Katy was thrilled, especially by the package which is said to be a £220,000-a-show deal. She has agreed to meet Simon and studio bosses in the States this autumn to see if something can be done.”

The I Kissed A Girl singer, who is due to marry Russell Brand in a few weeks, is very much in demand right now. Currently midway through a worldwide promotional tour, her new album, Teenage Dream, shot up the charts in its first week, outselling Eminem.
